So you are just starting out as a Virtual Assistant... YAY or you’ve been a VA for awhile but your still feeling a little lost.
When I first started out I was a little bit lost on what I should and should not be doing and man did I make some mistakes in the beginning that really hinder my success.
Now some of the things below I did (like spam my potential clients 🤦🏼♀️) but some are horror stories I have heard from clients or seen throughout my times as a VA.
Here are 5 things you shouldn’t do as a virtual assistant.
1. Spam potential client's DMs in this day and age there is no reason to be spamming someone’s inbox. Create a connection with your potential clients and engage with their content.
2. Not having a business email. You don’t have to have a domain register email but please don’t use an email that doesn’t contain your business name.
3. Lie about your experience. Unfortunately, this happens a lot 😭. Your potential clients would rather you say you don’t know how to do a task but you are willing to learn. Then to have you lie about it.
4. Under charge for your time. This is super common for beginner VAs. You really want the job so you drop your prices, just to get it. Someone once said to me a client who isn’t willing to pay your rate isn’t your ideal client.
5. Rush into it. It is super important to have the basics down pat before you reach out to any potential clients. You should have at very least your services and pricing sorted out before you reach out to any clients.
It’s easy to make these mistakes or feel like you have to do these things to get clients but I can assure you that these are hindering your success.
